I found an SG today on Craigslist that was just too good to pass up. Ive liked these guitars since I was a kid. The fit and finish is great and the bound neck and inlays are kind of neat. It will satisfy my need for a humbucker sound when the occasion calls for it.
The Gibson is cool but I still very much prefer my American Standard Strat!

It's a beauty! Enjoy it. After playing strictly Fenders for almost 20 years I bought an SG. The hardest thing to get used to was the fact that the neck joined the body at the last fret. It threw me off for quite awhile until I got used to it.

Congrats on a really nice looking ax, and I totally agree on your thinking of covering all your tonal options.

very nice. I lige SG's as they are obviously similar to a les paul but it doesnt feel like you have an anvil round your neck compared to a tele :)
