Welcome to the world of the paranormal.

Don't engage them in conversation for they are disturbed that is why they are still here.

had a dozen of them in my old apartment on Division street near Damen including a large white tiger that gaurded my door and the angel of death's feet, he is 3 stories tall, the building was 3 stories and I lived in the garden apartment behind the pawn shop. don't be scared and don't be bad, you know what I mean, if you are bad they won't be nice.

Good to hear things are goin good for you,

Thats wierd, my storys quite simalar, although I haven't seen one, its more of an encounter;

My dad's the manager of enginerring at shepp hospital, it was a sunday and he had to go there for an emergency around 7pm. I decided to go with him, cause I was bored like hell, so we left at around 7.10pm. We got at the hospital at around 7.45pm. I'd been there a lot, so I knew my way around. We got to the engineering department, a seperate building from the main one. No one was there, and my dad said stay here I'll be back in about half an hour. I waited in his office, then I snooped around the building cause I got bored, and then I had to go to the toilet. I found the mens, did my buisness and washed my hands, an just as I was about to turn to the door, it opened about 10 cm and closed again. At first i thought it was dad, so i got out of the restrooms and said, "you there?". No reply, i looked around the building. Nothing. About 5 minuts later I heard footsteps an I said, "come on stop joking around", again no reply.

Pretty spooky, especially cause it was a full moon that night.

Interesting story, Nevin. This was in a hospital, right? Maybe some confused soul was making it's way out, after leaving it's body, eh?

I mean, why not?

One night, drunk and miserable, trying to sleep under an overpass on a highway, I saw a lighted figure in front of me. I never forgot about it.

I think you saw something, alright.

Hey Nevin, have I ever seen a ghost? No, but I witnessed pranks and practical jokes, meant to scare people from doing their work or their business. The fact is that a lot of people saw them but they were never filmed, documented, dissected, analysed, touched or arrested. Maybe they are the one who are scared when they see us. If they exist.
You said in your post that you were doing extra hours, if you were exhausted both physically and mentally, you were prone to be influenced by coworkers, even if you didn't specified that they didn't try to scare you with ghosts stories before working on shifts that nobody wanted.
That beiing said, I believe that a lot of the weird stuff that we hear about is somewhere in the fringe of modern science, and right now, we still lack the proper tools to take it out of the shadow.
Please don't see this post as offensive because I do believe that you are serious when you tell your story. But I can only see it like this, a story. Keep us posted on further developments. :)

Ok so I don't really believe in ghosts...but...
One night a long time ago, I was about 9 years old, & I was laying in my bed about to go to sleep, when I looked over at my dresser and saw a little girl. She was dressed in old timey, pioneer looking clothes & was sorta see-through. I know I could have been dreaming, but I swear she was a ghost. She didnt move or anything, just starred at me. It scared the piss out of me! I remember hiding under the clothes the rest of the night...

I remember getting off work one night and parking in front of my apartment building just in time to see someone dressed in a shabby coat go through the door leading to my unit. It was during winter and thought it was a homeless person getting out of the weather. When you go through the door there is a set of stairs that go up and turn right. When no one was there when I opened the door I figured they would be on the landing at the top of the stairs - but there was nobody there either. There was no place for anyone to go or hide. Then I realized that the person looked like the little old lady who used to own the building and had passed away a few years earlier.

Well I will start off with welcome back Nevin. Have I ever seen a ghost=no. Do I believe in such things and the paranormal=yes. I grew up in a religious household and have an extremely religious Mother who was very hip for her time in many ways one being she believed in paranormal stuff like psychics back in the 60s. I watch a lot of late night TV shows about such things and the ones that intrigue me the most are the shows where detectives bring in psychics to help solve a murder, and they usually do this as a last resort the first time they use one. But I have seen enough shows now where they are billed as famed psychics who have been used by law enforcement and have helped in solving many murders. Just my personal view, if detectives to the government have brought them in for help there is obviously something going on. Also I was watching one of these shows onetime and bugged out as it was about a cold case of a girl found murdered over 20 years ago that was solved by a psychic. The girl just happened to be one of my best friends sister.

Yeah I am always a bit skeptical with all these types of paranormal things but my belief is somewhat 50/50 personally I have not seen or had the experience of any such paranormal activity and thus will not be fully convinced until otherwise but whilst at my nana's her neighbour is a firm believer and she thinks her deceased husband is still making his way around their current property where she still lives.

My 2cents :P

We bought our house in 1981 from a couple, the mother of the woman whom died and was viewed and had her funeral in this same house. I still have the lamp that was at the head of the coffin down in my cellar. The coffin was place right here in the front room where I now have my computer desks.

My son is now 26 years old and at university, but over 20 years ago, when he was only about three/four years old, he would ask his mother... "Mommy, why do you stand in my door and look at me at night?" or... "Mommy, why do you lay down on the bathroom floor and watch me in bed?"

To this very day, that young man requires his bedroom door be shut at night. My wife has spotted this very same apparition in our cellar and has been spoken to by her. Once, when I was ill and hospitalized, she was told that "Everything will be all right".

We returned home one particular day out and my wife complained that she had forgotten the clothes she had put in the dryer and they would be a wrinkled mess. Upon going into the cellar to retrieve them, she found all the laundry neatly folded and waiting atop the dryer. We now refer to the woman and the "laundry ghost".

There are more stories from the past 30 years here, but will wait for another time. 8)

I have never seen this woman myself, nor do I have any wish to do so. Thank you very much!

While I believe that there are demons per the Bible, I don't believe in ghosts, per se. We see all these shows on TV where the ghost hunters are trying to steer you into believing they've caught ectoplasm on film, voices on cassettes, etc. Even at this, they have to guide you through these things so you can see and hear what they want you to believe.Yet, there is not one bonafide shred of evidence to my satisfaction that anyone has ever encountered such things other than their say so. I will grant you, they sincerely believe it though. Frankly, I think these things are all in the mind as a condition of a low keyed mass hysteria or even the longing of people to know what really is on the 'other side' and so, their imagination takes over; kind of like, "Infallible Web Dogma", if you know what I mean.

As to psychics, if they really were, they'd all be low keyed, chronic lottery/casino winners living the life of oil magnates and not having their 'hole in the wall' establishments as we see here and there, listing a number for you to call to make an appointment for a personal reading (for a fee, of course). Consider: If they really were psychic, all you'd have to do is walk in their door as they would have already 'known' who you are and exactly when you'd be coming in. Hence, your appointment would have already been made and they'd be there waiting for you. Reinforcing this point, how many disasters, be they man made or of nature would have been averted by their supposed omniscient clairvoyance whom again, the Bible clearly states to put no stock in these types? Yet, these parasites all come scrambling out of the woodwork after the fact, proclaiming they knew all about it and that the victims of said disaster(s) are currently speaking to them where for a certain financial compensation, the gullible and bereaved shall be victimized even further. Nice, eh?

As always, this is merely IMO where YMMV.
