He is a bit of a strange character as it is, add in self medication..............

But he sure can play guitar!!!

Yep. Mayall's "A Hard Road" was an amazing album with him.

Hey Chet, how is that mod?
I've heard that you turn the neck pup around and wire out of phase. Is that right? or is there more to it than that?

The magnet in the neck pickup is flipped (N/S not E/W), then the pickup is turned around. When both pickups are selected they are out of phase.

Thanks Chet. Can I just ask. Does that give you a thinner sound, compared to the factory set-up?

Because you are going out of phase AND moving the neck pickup pole pieces closer to the bridge you get a brighter, sweeter tone. There is a slight drop in volume which gives you that tone. Turning one of the volume controls down just a hair brings the volume back up and changes the tone again.

Thanks a lot Chet, I've wondered for a while what Peter Green did, exactly. I've got a couple of LP's myself, I might try that one.
Cheers man. 8)
