I know right. How can you not copy and paste or upload a picture on a Fender guitar website. It's not like they don't have money flying out of their ampholes!! Amphole, hmmm. I just made that up.

Amphole (noun). To be of the guitar playing variety and posessing pretentious type qualities. ex. He would have realized it was a good guitar if he wasn't such an amphole.

I don't know how much easier it could get to open a photobucket account and upload your pictures and then link to them in your post.

They provide all the information, the rest is all copy and past. Simple Windows stuff everyone with a computer should know. 8)

Might I suggest adult education for elementary computer training?

j/k man... busting your stones. What is it you need to know that you haven't got a handle on just yet? 8)

It's all good. The main thing I have to do is not be such a lazy $@! and just open the photobucket account and then try to link it up. ha ha. I will get moving on that soon hopefully.

Haha, I take your point but to be honest I don't know what photo bucket is you amphole! So maybe you can take me through it step by step as I am only a teacher in adult education. To be fair there are other sites that do not require this. Would appreciate your help Vermont. :D

Fair enough amphole.

Go to this site and create an account~~> http://photobucket.com/ You will have plenty of storage to upload your photos and the ability to edit them online. I'm finding that 800X600 pixels is a good resolution for forum viewing. Larger than that makes the screen pretty wide.

You get your account created and some photos uploaded and then we'll work on using the *img* code to get your pictures onto the screen here at the forum. 8)

I use a program called irfanview to edit my pictures before I upload them. That does two things, gives me a chance to see how they came out before I spend time putting them online and it also makes the uploads much quicker. Typically, the 800X600 are under 100k in file size after I re-size/re-sample the pictures.

Get irfanview here~~> http://www.irfanview.com/

Sincerely,
The Senior Amphole (Ron)

p.s. had to add amphole to my spell check dictionary

Ok, thanks Ron, and gooseman for a fine addition to the english/american language. I will sort the account out this weekend. By the way if you have been following the guitar build thread by ceri he has had a few problems at the end with his photobucket account, talking about reaching his limit. I suppose if you put too much on you have a size limit? I will only need to put about 6 up so should be fine.
Back soon.

If fender forum add a photo upload funcaionality, they also have to add a LOT of storage space to host those photos. As far as i understand its pretty much brad managing this forum, along with a bunch of other thing.

so aside from the extra cost, there would be a lot more admin included in this.

besides, how easy is it to just upload your photos to flickr/photobucket and just add an image tag to your posts!

That is why I mentioned the program to re-size/re-sample the photos BEFORE uploading them. You will use less space and less bandwidth so you're not likely to run out of either. I have several hundreds of photos stored there and have not used even half of my allotment yet. 8)
