Studying to get my PAL License. Possession and Acquisition License for those south of the 49th or overseas.

Anybody have any tips for passing?

Can you name the 4 Vital ACTS?

It was a simple test, but read the book. Do the restricted at the same time, took me about 10 minutes.

The 4 acts, rock and roll (that's two), sex and drugs.

Quite the opposite. I feel very safe here. Especially on the Island. Although I do live in Langford and we seem to be making National headlines lately.

No, I've always been interested and just felt there is no time like the present. Besides I feel I need to do my part in controlling the clay puck population. If we're not careful we could have a revolution on our hands.

I was going to do the Restricted at the same time. Is it much different? The Un-Restricted does show you how to handle and prove safe semi-auto and revolving actions.

CV, did you know that all Firearms have to be registered in Canada? Now that was a money grab. Our current government is trying to abolish that law. Power to them.

My daughter had no problem getting hers,she said most of the questions are basic common sense questions but she had a bit of an edge as she's a Conservation Officer.As long as you know the proper protocols of hunting it should be no problem.BTW she's in training now for her side arms license and she's a crack shot with a rifle.

I've read through the manual a couple times and taken a couple practise tests online. I'm pretty confident that I'll pass both. I don't have the cash to take the course, so I'm going to challenge the test. It'll be a couple hundred bucks to spend on something to get me started after I pass the test, rather than passing the test and having no cash.


Yes Taurus, I am speaking of Vancouver Island. I truly feel I live in one of the most beautiful places in the world. Lucky enough to be born and raised here. I don't want to sound like somebody form the tourist office, but it really is SuperNatural BC! Are you in WA?

i finally got my second pal, they expire after five years

i got 100% on my non restricted and 98% on my restricted(i grew up with guns on a farm)


one useless question they ask that only really applies to bechrest shooters is what is the difference between a wad cutter and a semi wad cutter

but most of the test is basic common sense and you should have no problem

Whats ridiculous about the second amendment. What does that have to do a PAL in Canada. The second amendment not only allows me to protect myself from crime but also government . It happened once.

When in the Course of human events it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

In my opinion any law that restricts a citizen from owning a firearm is going against the second.
It should be old enough to vote old enough to own, commit a felony loose your right to vote and own.

While I don't want to turn this into a debate on American gun control, or lack there of, I find it interesting how often this law is misunderstood by people in favour of owning an abundance of automatic weapons for hunting todays deadliest wildlife.

In the era when the 2nd Ammendment was written, the phrase "keep and bear arms" refered to operating in a military fashion, thats pretty much an accepted fact by most scholars of American history. As the US had no standing federal army at the time, it established the right to form militia's. It was also written a few hundred years ago with no understanding of what modern weapons would be capable of.

It is also interesting to note, that the new association with an indivduals rights to keep a private cache of arms in case the Queen of England shows up at the door demanding land didn't begin until the 20th century.

I am not sure that gun control vs right to bear arms is any way to solve gun violence, but the shear number of guns available in the United States in a ratio to the number of people must be a contributing factor to making the United States, by far and away the "civilized world" leader in violent crime.

Hmm....I wonder what would happen if you and a few of your buddies tried to form a militia and kick out Obama...I am guessing your 2nd ammendment rights wouldn't be respected for long...in fact then you would be a terrorist, or maybe freedom fighter?
