Well guys and gals, looks like I'm going to Download Festival @ Castle Donington in June (formerly Monsters of Rock)!!!!

Wasn't going to go cos it will eat into my GAS savings but our drummer managed to twist my arm yesterday over a few pints. By the 8th pint I was a bit excited!!

The line-up includes:

AC/DC,
Aerosmith,
Slash,
Rage Against the Machine,
Motorhead,
Megadeath,
Billy Idol,
Stone Temple Pilots,
Them Crooked Vultures,
Wolfmother,
Cinderella,
Mike Monroe,
Airbourne
Tyketto,
E'Nuff Z'Nuff

and many more including my old singers band who played there last year.

Needless to say I'm very excited! Haven't done the all weekend festival thing since Reading 2001.

Anyone else going?

Got ticket sorted now on to booking a cheapo flight!

Them Crooked Vultures are amazing one of the ones I can't wait to see. Hope you get to see RATM Floyd. I missed out on them at Reading 2000 because I went the year after. Been dying to see them for ages.

Tochai I left Steel Panther out on purpose though I will throw whatever is near me at them should I be dandering past them! lol

That sucks mate. Couldn't you have gotten an adult to take you to it? I was lucky as a kid that my parents liked good music. By the time I was 11 I'd seen Guns N' Roses, Jethro Tull and Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds. I know not all places allow kids though. Especially if there is alcohol on the go.

No man, 5 years ago opening for Velvet Revolver at the Odyssey in Belfast. Great show! Thought Scott Weiland was amazing for VR that night too.

The album has been growing on me, I didn't like it at first but the more I hear it the more I like a few tracks, especially Ghost with Izzy and Ian Astbury and Crucify the Dead with Ozzy. I really wish the song with Duff and Dave Grohl wasn't instrumental though, seems like a waste of a good track to me. Myles Kennedy I'm having a bit of trouble liking though and he will be at Download.

Still, I can't wait for some 5 day camping debauchery!
