I bought a used Digitech RP250 for $40 at GC and have been playing with it. It's fun to use. I had bought a Hendrix Wah pedal for $60 used and didn't like the sound of it so I brought it back and saw the RP sitting there and bought it. I like the wah effect better on the Digitech!

I used to use multi units, but I like using one pedal for one sound. I still have my Rocktron Intellifex in a rack but I don't use it much.

My current setup:
Dunlop 535Q, Fulltone- Deja Vibe, Xotic- RC Booster, Boss Super Overdrive, Jauering-Gristle King, Blackout Effector's Fix'd Fuzz, Guyatone Chorus, Boss Delay

nothing too wild....

Mr Fry

I'm quite surprised that Fender never got into effects more. Particularly pre and power amps, during the years of rackmount dominance. Given the popularity of the Cyber series amps the time could well be nigh for a Fender rack preamp/effects unit. You could even make a poweramp to run a selection of valve setups.

Could you imagine having a selection of all those great Fender preamp types/models, on the poweramp of your choosing and a speaker setup to suit?

A Vibroking into a classA el84 poweramp, out through stereo 2x10's. Or a Bassman preamp into KT66's and a couple of 4x12's. You'd put Marshall out of business with that.

I think the only problem with it would be that you wouldnt sell anything else. The plus is that I dont think anyone else would either.

as a somewhat reformed "rack head", I agree. It would be amazing to have the choices. The other way would be: have all of those amps and a switcher (I like this for the Joe Perry fan in me).....and throw in a roadie...

We are about to start working on new videos to showcase our amps, and the many uses of each one. We've posted lots of videos from our showroom here in Scottsdale, and everyone mentions the toys in the room.

I want to show what a 65 Twin or a 59 Bassman sounds like with pedals. Some of the greatest records of our time were made with a Deluxe Reverb on 8., and don't forget a Champ on 10 in a bathtub....

Stay tuned, I'll hit you guys up for ideas

The only effects I have right are a Delta Lab DGFX1 and a Boss DS-1. I usually just play my own stuff straight through the amp (Frontman 25R) but for other people's songs I really like the amount of effects in a small unit.

Digitech GnX2, but I'm selling it and stepping to the RP 250. The GnX2 has more bells and whistles than I've ever touched. And the RP 250 has the USB connection.

i actually prefer to have a few pedals to combine rather than one pedal that does it all. I just feel like i can get a more unique sound that way, you know? i don't know, i guess i just like to be complicated. :D

I use a RP 250 but I mostly use the stuff on my amp

But when I feel sounding crazy I love just mixing up stuff on it. :)

I use pod farm on my laptop when recording. Its a good sim and cheaper than buying the 20+ heads and 20+ cabs that are in the programme for when you songs call for something different. Like using a fender tweed with an overdriven orange.

I had a GNX4, it was pretty cool. But I got Guitar rig 4 and have been using that on my laptop, so I sold the GNX 4.

No processors for me. I prefer the sound of a pair of tube amps cranked up to high heaven and perhaps an overdrive pedal or two to use as a boost. I used to have a pile of stompboxes, but my "let's make this simpler" plan resulted in a lot of sales. I currently use nothing more than a Way Huge Pork Loin and a Boss tuner.

Effects seem to rob your tone of character to me. I use some EHX pedals but only to boost the volume for leads and drive the amp a little harder. Ive not yet found a must have effect.

Turrican, I have a GT6. I love it. The only thing i wish it did that i believe the GT8 allows you to do is layer two different amp models. Does it also allow you to layer distortion/OD pedals? Don't think the GT6 will allow for that either. However... overall, I love my GT6

There is a patch editor freeware that you can download that is pretty cool. Allows you to easily backup patches and also share. I created a couple of Gilmour patches ive uploaded to their server.
