For probably 15 years I used Dunlop picks (I forget which ones, but they are light blue), sort of a hold-over from my hard rock, fast fingered days. I always liked them because of the extra "grip" that the surface gave me, plus the light blue color made them easy to find if I dropped one. When I got my Strat this year, I started using Fender tortoise shell picks, probably out of sentiment (Fender picks/Fender guitar), in both medium and heavy. They work quite well for me these days.

FENDER MED. 354's and 358's. I like the small tear drop shape. I brush thumb against string being picked while soloing, once in a while to create different sounds. :)

I used Dunlop 500 picks in Dark Purole or 2.0mm in thickness.

All my picks are 351 style. The Martin Medium .73mm are a little heavier than the Fender Medium. Just tried the Fender Extra Heavy celluloid I bought last week. Didn't notice much difference from the Heavy ones I have except for some extra thickness they seem to sound and handle pretty much the same to me. Still dropped it a few times. Now that I've been playing the Heavy for a while I need to switch back to the Medium to make a good comparison. This is just so much fun! :P
