fav song to listen to is hard, I have a lot but one of my default answers to that is "Power of Love" by Huey Lewis and the News or "Hey Jealousy" by the Gin Blossoms. (I know both are a little pop but maybe that's what I like about them).

To play probably "Blues in the Night" especially on bass if the singer doesn't want the rhythm section to just lay back. It isn't really a guitar song per se, except that it combines elements of blues and big band, the two styles I grew up with.
