Utah is allegedly now considering Similar legislation. If they adopt it it may cause the other border states to follow suit. That would definitely be a step in the right direction along with the sniper schools and tanks. It will be interesting to see what goes down in November.

The way I see it if you're the big dog on the porch you better act like one. Don't just growl and bark. Bite a big chunk out of their rear. Somebody is going to be the top dog and I'd rather it be US.

Political sellouts. Could care less about the U.S. as long as they get voted into office.

Although I started a topic like this (music related) it was shortly removed because of name calling. It seems like we are being very mature about posting and these posts have been left alone. So I would like to post a few items based on what has been said:

Warren v. District of Columbia[1] (444 A.2d. 1, D.C. Ct. of Ap. 1981) is a U.S. Court of Appeals case in which three rape victims sued the District of Columbia because of negligence on the part of the police. Two of three female roommates were upstairs when they heard men break in and attack the third. After repeated calls to the police over half an hour, the roommate's screams stopped, and they assumed the police had arrived. They went downstairs and were held captive, raped, robbed, beaten, and forced to commit sexual acts upon one another and to submit to the attackers' sexual demands for 14 hours. The police had lost track of the repeated calls for assistance. DC's highest court ruled that the police do not have a legal responsibility to provide personal protection to individuals, and absolved the police and the city of any liability.[2]

Any questions about gun control?

The Miami Herald reported on July 5, 1987:

Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North and the Federal Emergency Management Agency ... had drafted a contingency plan providing for the suspension of the Constitution, the imposition of martial law, and the appointment of military commanders to head state and local governments and to detain dissidents and Central American refugees in the event of a national crisis.[1]
According to scholar Diana Reynolds:

The Rex-84 Alpha Explan (Readiness Exercise 1984, Exercise Plan; otherwise known as a continuity of government plan), indicates that FEMA in association with 34 other federal civil departments and agencies, along with other NATO nations, conducted a civil readiness exercise during April 5-13, 1984. It was conducted in coordination and simultaneously with a Joint Chiefs exercise, Night Train 84, a worldwide military command post exercise (including Continental U.S. Forces or CONUS) based on multi-emergency scenarios operating both abroad and at home. In the combined exercise, Rex-84 Bravo, FEMA and DOD led the other federal agencies and departments, including the Central Intelligence Agency, the Secret Service, the Treasury, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Veterans Administration through a gaming exercise to test military assistance in civil defense.
The exercise anticipated civil disturbances, major demonstrations and strikes that would affect continuity of government and/or resource mobilization. To fight subversive activities, there was authorization for the military to implement government ordered movements of civilian populations at state and regional levels, the arrest of certain unidentified segments of the population, and the imposition of martial law. [2]

Fema internment camps?

The phrase NAFTA superhighway is the nickname used for numerous existing and proposed highways.

When describing existing highways, it often describes Interstate 35, along with I-29, and I-94. Those highways are part of the NASCO Corridor. Existing highways or corridors referred to as NAFTA superhighways:

Interstate 35
Interstate 29
Interstate 94
CANAMEX Corridor
The term is sometimes also used to describe planned, or proposed highways and supercorridors which connect the road systems of the three nations of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) trade bloc (Canada, Mexico, and the United States). Proposed or planned highways and supercorridors referred to as NAFTA superhighways:

Trans-Texas Corridor
International Mid-Continent Trade Corridor
Proposed I-69 highway extension to Mexico through Texas.
Organizations supporting supercorridors:

North American SuperCorridor Coalition
North American Forum on Integration

and This will keep the Mexicans out?

Thanks for sharing those, real eye openers. 250,000 apprehended in one year, hundreds of them from terrorist states.
I don't know about you, but 12 to 14 million illegal immigrants (excuse me, undocumented Democrats) in the country with hundreds of thousands more trying to get in every year - that is an invasion. We should treat is as such.

And to the Latinos in Arizona who are protesting the law, I have this comment: quit harboring them. The existing Latino communities help these people come over, and then hide them, help them get housing and jobs and beat the system. If you don't want to be "targeted" or "profiled" and have your status questioned then help us get the illegals out of here.

We've had some interesting legal moves here in AZ and I wonder what you
musical types think of this:

First, we can now carry a concealed firearm with out applying for a permit. Not sure if this is law, or just pending, but will soon be law.

Second, I'm sure you've heard, we have made it "illegal" to be an illegal alien. That is, the police can, and are required to ask about the status of anyone they believe to be in this country illegally. If they are here illegally, the aliens can be charged with trespassing and given to federal authorities for 'processing'. Deportation, perhaps.

Me, I'm a little uneasy about the first law, cause I know I'm safe with a weapon, but I just dont know about everyone else. We shall see...

On the immigration law, I'm totally behind it. The news every night is a cavalcade of illegal alien crime. Home invasions are an every day event,
and the situation needed to be addressed. I'm glad our Gov, Jan Brewer signed this bill into law, courageously, with mobs of protesters outside the capitol building. You know, every elected official takes an oath to protect
us, but our gov and Maricopa County Sheriff, Joe Arpio, seem to be the only ones taking it seriously. Especially Arpio. :D

I'd like to know what you think of all this, and if you come to Arizona, dont worry about being car-jacked. Everyone will assume you're packing :)

I would start to worry when you are required to carry.

I thought that is the law.

see above etc.

It's the darnedest thing. Boycott Ariz. because they want to enforce the law, but then say nothing about the Driver's license.
Do you have a Driver's license? You have to submit it to officers on demand. - like a piece of plastic is going to prove you know how to drive.
IMHO, it is more about surveillance and tracking than it is about safety.
As for the undocumented, I think they want them to be documented and there is a lot of fuss from those who think it is a race thing. I don't think it is.

so now they had to close a portion of the border area to U.S. citizens due to the violence brought in by foreign entities? Unreal

Sniper schools are sounding real good now.

I have just moved to AZ and have to say that it was very intimidating the first time I saw people with holstered guns. I am from California, and when I first saw signs on stores no fire arms I was unnerved.

Weird I tell ya that.

You'll grow accustomed to it.

Or not.

Either way, we'll still be here......

I rather see that then know that in places like Baltimore City half the ghetto bangers are illegally carrying hidden and your not allowed.
Gun laws do nothing to stop crime but take away the ability of law abiding to defend them selfs. Criminals will carry either way.

We have laws for a reason. Everyone has to follow them. Every country in the world has immigration laws. Why are we supposed to let people pick and chose the laws they will follow to suit themselves. I really don't understand this argument. I am first generation US citizen. My mother is an immigrant. we need immigrants. All we ask is that they follow the law and come here legally. I really dont understand why anybody can argue against that.

If you dont live in Arizona, you have no idea how bad it is here. Phoenix is the kidnapping capital. We have foreign criminal gangs shooting it out with each other in broad daylight. We have smugglers leaving 50 or more people to die in houses with no air conditioning while they wait for ransoms. Most of the illegal drugs that come into the country come from mexico through Arizona and these idiot liberals dont want cops to be allowed to ask people for their ID's when they commit a crime. How is this racist?

The truth is the Republicans want the cheap labor and the Democrats want to give the people that sneak in amnesty for one reason. They know they will gain 15 million new democrats overnight. The regular people end up getting the shaft like always.

Anyone that hasnt read the simple Arizona bill shouldnt comment on it. It is only a few pages and very simple to understand and has nothing to do with race.

Im glad I live in a state like Arizona where I can defend myself and my family if I was ever attacked.

I am 100% behind the immigration law, this has got to stop, unemployment is through the roof and these people just waltz right in and mooch off of the gov't, it's ridiculous. Eisenhower did the same exact thing when he was president. Operation $@!&#*%, sent back 2,000,000,000 illegals to wherever they came from. As for the firearm, that doesn't seem to make sense, don't you have to have a permit for your firearm? I'll read up on it some more to see if i could understand it better
