if you've only played it for 4 hours total in that time it sounds like you really haven't given it much of a chance at all ,sure it feels different from a fender but it also sounds different :) play it for a week (and for a good few hours a day ) and have an open mind about it , deffo not " i don't like this " :) and see how you get on with it then :)
by the way , i own one of these and i find it very comfy to play espesh sitting down :) hth , cheers
Alan

Dude, dont sell it, its a wicke guitar. I've played mine for about 8 hours total, but now that my squier strat e string's broken, I've been playing it, and its actually not that bad, it may feel very diffrent, but just give it a proper shot 8)

I agree with everybody else, give it a chance. Unless you have a pressing need for some extra cash, hang onto it for a bit.
However, to answer your question, I expect the best you could do is get (if you're lucky) maybe half what you paid.

I find my SG and strat feel the same, thin/light, but the necks are different. Now my LP certainly feels different mostly because of the weight. After using it exclusively for a couple of weeks it just starts to feel right as well, now they all do now. I like em all, now I want another, hollow/semi hollow and I'm sure it will feel right in no time.

variety is the spice of life

Check ebay and Craigs list to see what they are going for on the open market. Back around November, I bought an Epiphone Prophecy EX (an SG with EMG 81/85's and a quilt maple top) new for about $350 US with a hardshell case.

The Epi SG neck is quite a change from a Fender but given time it will feel really comfortable. When I got mine it took me a couple of weeks 'til I felt at home with it but after that I found it to be a great player and it sounds great too.The wider, flatter neck is a big change but given time it will grow on you as it did on me.BTW I have small hands so if I can adapt to it anybody can.

GC is selling them for 199.00 and up. Practice standing, tune down to D or A and start cranking. You may not like the feel at first but you will come around, it is a versatile guitar with a lot of sound options.

I would check the completed listings on ebay, that is the best way to get a feel for any gear you are selling. I personally never cared for an SG but as far as Epiphone I see more raves for that company than there parent one Gibson. See if you can sell or trade it for an Epi Les Paul.

Oh and mthorn00, she's very nice, love the EMG pups!

Thanks GO_ME, Gibson/Epiphone necks really are different than Fender necks to play. Once you get used to the feel, you'll be able to switch between brands easily enough. I have to say though, nothing balances as nicely as a Strat.

Thought here, open up a little, relax, explore. Chances are good you and the SG can become life-pals.

Please excuse the naivete, but what is there NOT to like about owning / playing ANY of the great guitars, properly set up?

Playing any and all of the Strat, Tele, Les Paul, Firebird, ES-335, Jazzmaster, Jaguar, L-5...

...is to experience a taste of Heaven.

Dudes, a new guitar is like being with a new girl after breaking up with your girlfriend of 2 years. It takes some getting used to but after a while you realize why you wanted something different in the first place ha ha.

My stepson has an Epi SG. We had it set up correctly and he loves it. He goes in spurts between that and his G&L Legacy. I wish I could get him into a Fender, but I'm a G&L guy too.

If you do decide to sell it try Craigs list before Ebay. A lot better options with local pick up or drop off and you can usually get more money bc of no shipping costs.
