Yo; SA,

What kind of gear do you play?

Also, I have heard some African music with the locals playing Stratocasters. I was amazed because they had their own ideas of how an electric guitar should sound. It was all happy and jangley with no distortion or sustain at all. To me it was a very original approach.

What are your influences?

Hello and welcome !!!
Growing up in France, African rythm's were always prevalent in the music i heard. Very upbeat and always puts a smile on a cloudy day

Welcome here. After you post your list of gear, you are required to post photos, otherwise it doesn't exist :D

Welcome to the Forum SARock.I love the clean trademark guitar sounds that eminate from South Africa(and the rest of the continent or"country" as Sarah Palin would say LOL)Paul Simon really did the guitar world a favor when he used Lady Blacksmith on his Graceland album. It was after Paul released that album that African guitar came to the fore. Please post pix of your gear or let us know what you're using as we are mostly gear fanatics .
