Well I know Fender is our #1 guitar company but was just wondering how many guys have a solid #2 and not just some other company they own a guitar from.

My #2 is EBMM as I really dig there guitars , craftsmanship and great colors. And the big majority of there axes are humbucking guitars so there really is no competition with my Fenders. I own 2 EVHs, 1 Axis and a Petrucci and love them all.

One day I will buy a Gibson though.lol

Aside from my 4 Fender Strats, the only other Electric Guitar I have is my 2001 Gibson LP Standard. So, I guess my answer would be Gibson.

Taylor. And now they're into electrics as well. Although I still have tried one of those.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Hi straycat: does it have to be a guitar brand?

If not, well I was a drummer before I was a guitarist and I've always played Premier drums through all the ups and downs of that company. A few years ago I had them custom build me a rather handsome large new kit - a shedload of money but I never regretted a penny.

Also, I have a nice, not too expensive Yamaha acoustic guitar. And I swear by Yamaha's other gear too. I have a mixer and also the AW1600 home studio. That is getting on in years now but it is so well designed it has never occured to me to want to trade up. Excellent gear. Yamaha have been around for longer than most other instrument makers and they are at the top of the tree, qualitywise.

I also have some "Handmade in South London" guitars I quite like...

Cheers - C

As I've said countless times, I'm a Strat guy through and through. But those Paul Reed Smith's are something extraordinary indeed. Mine certainly will run with the big dogs!

This is funny, my #2 favorite company is still part of FMIC. It is Jackson. Away from FMIC would be Gibson.

I cant think of another guitar brand that does appeal to me. Individual guitars do, I like jackson dinky's, but dislike the soloist. Worst of all I dont even know why. I cant say I've played a bad tokai, I've played a few mediocre ones but non that are inherently bad guitars.

Martin is my #2 company. If I had to buy another electric it would be a nice Gibson SG, a Firebird, or perhaps a Jackson that doesn't have a Floyd. Luckily, I don't feel the need for another electric, just serious GAS for a Martin right now >_>

My 2nd is a Gadow set neck. 2 SD HBs double cut arch top solid body. Different sound more PRS or Les Paul like and its beautiful. Plays like a dream. I just wish more people played them.

I'm still a Strat guy...

Gibson and PRS would be in a tie for number 2 and Epiphone would be a solid number 3.

I am quite surprised at some of the answers, and even not familiar with some which is cool as it gives me somethings to look into.lol I figured most would be guitars with humbuckers. By the way Plymouth58 is that your Dean Leslie West artist series-a wicked guitar by all accounts.
