Does anyone else find it bad that Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger was suspended for 6 games when the Steelers first prime time game is week 7? The NFL announces the schedule and then announces his suspension a day later. Way to cash in guys.

He may get traded... so that would be a moot point...

We have plenty of room for him here in Arizona... Bring em over here...

There will probably be ways he can cut his suspention to 4 games by being a good boy. I think the team owners would love to ditch him.

I think he's on the downside of his career anyway so it doesn't really matter.

he's an idiot. all that money and these guys can't obey some simple rules. anymore i just laugh. i find it harder and harder to watch pro sports these days for this reason. what ever happened to real discipline? i know but i won't bring my opinion to this extremely cool forum.
big ben, you messed up. big time.

Definitely not on his down side at 28 years age for quarterback. He is just a bumbling idiot off the field. 28 with the behavior of a 12 year old. I think he is just lucky the Police mishandled everything in this last episode.
Pittsburg Steelers have more problems then the QB position they found that out last year . The Bengals have gotten better and the Ravens have really added big time to their offense this off season.

I agree with the post about all the money these guys make, and they can't keep out of trouble.

The Steeleres are one of the best franchises in sports and I would say he is on his way out the door 2 super bowls and all. I cant believe the stupidity on his part as this is the second documented incident with words circling of other incidents that were hushed up.

Look ladies the Rooneys aren't happy but they're not stupid either.

Franchise QBs don't come around every year. Just ask the Browns.

By the time his suspension is over he'll be welcomed back with hugs and kisses.

America loves a good comeback story and at 28 Ben is just at prime age for QB success.

Look no further than Pres. Clinton. whose special cigar fetish was all the rage but now is a celebrated statesman and humanitarian.

Ben is gone at Pittsburgh. Trade rumors already out. The Rooneys want a top 10 draft pick for him... Grow up Ben wear a helmet, quit drinking, stay out of the college bars and away from the cute little coeds. You might still be able to salvage your reputation and career.

Since he was legally cleared of all charges, I was kind of surprised with the suspension.

That's why I believe he's on the downside. Not because he physically can't perform on the field, but because of his mental state. Unless he suddenly has some sort of epiphany and changes his ways, I don't see him having much success from this point on.

Even though I type this from ground zero, I am not a Steeler fan. That all being said and being objective, a lot of people are looking past Dennis Dixon. He is very talented. If the Steelers were smart they would trade Ben for a top draft pick where they could draft some defense beast, and then play Dixon (backed by Leftwich & Batch).
