Big Ozzy fan! Diary of a Madman is a mainstay on my iPod as is some Sabbath. The new songs ok, same the one he sang on the Slash album but he has done better. I'm more old school. Love a bit of Randy!

You can count me as a fan from his Black Sabbath days and his later work too.

Before he became a caricature of a metal monster yes. For about the last decade he's just a pop singer.

Saw Ozzy with Black Sabbath in '74 at the Coventry Theater in Coventry, he is a great rock and roll singer and that band kicked major assa back then.

For me Ozzy is a mixed bag. I love old Sabbath, and the first few solo albums(up to Bark at the Moon,) from there I have to say I think he has been in a steady decline. I think he has been playing with guitar players that progressively I like less and less. I think oz is one of the artists that is really a product of his collaborators. Like in Sabbath, Butler and Iommi held the lion's share of creative duty. Randy Rhoads really fit with Ozzy, they went to a magical place for sure. But Ozzy's work since has seemed less vibrant. Personally i don't much care for Zakk Wylde's playing. i know he has legions of fans, but not my cup of tea. for me it's been 25 years since Ozzy's peak.

Always have been a big fan of OZ from Sabbath to halfway through his solo career and just loved his penchant for finding amazing gun slingers though Randy was just on his own plateau as a player and writer and not because he died tragic as the guy was the real deal. Today though I doubt I would even go and see him as he has become a cartoon character of himself and to be honest his talent has eroded big time. But I have plenty of CDs to play.

Ow, jealousy burns me! Wish I was old enough, and in the right country enough, to see them at their peak.

I love Ozzy, Sabbath turned to mush without him, lost its personality. I know he's been past his prime for many years, but he's still Ozzy. He's a treasure and he's definitely earnt the respect, even if he never released another song.

Even more so if he never releases another song. he's like that start athlete that doesn't know when to hang 'em up, and every release tarnshes the legacy.

I went to see him a couple years back, my girlfriend at the time had never seen him live, and wanted to go.(Probably just to see such a big star, she wasn't a fan.) i regret going. i saw him back in the early 80's and again in the 90's. this latest show, I wish i hadn't gone, and that I held on to those old memories.

each to their own, i saw him in 2001 and he was awsome, then again a couple of years later in sabbath and they were brilliant too. Can't say there is any of his solo stuff I dont like. Maybe your not a fan of his new stuff cause its more modern metal?

I remember going to see Black Sabbath, at the Glasgow Apollo. The support band blew them off the stage that night, a little know band called Van Halen 8)

Isn't that what we love about these heavy rock legends though? To me the fun of the music is the energy and larger than life, cartoon like figures that these people become. Ozzy "The Prince of Darkness" and Slash with the top hat and crazy hair in his face. Look at Jimi Hendrix even, the huge fro and "Wild Man of Borneo" persona. Their music is great and their personalities are endearing to me. Music is full of some great and very serious people who I admire but when it comes to rock music I want the whole package. Give me Angus Young and his Chuck Berry duck walk over some serious pretentious schmuck any day of the week. Don't take this as a personal thing just my opinion and a different point of view. No harm intended here.
