on June 15th I am going to see YES and Peter Frampton up at Mohegan Sun here in CT, I'm so excited. Has anyone seen either of them live? I heard Frampton puts on an amazing show and so does YES, so needless to say it's gonna be great

That should be awesome to say the least! Of course... we'll need pictures!

AFAIK Frampton is a New York State (waaaay upstate) native these days. Upstate somewhere I'm told. He has played the Champlain Valley Fair a number of times. If you look at the jacket liner on the "Frampton Comes Alive" album you can note that part of it was recorded at Plattsburgh State College. 8)

Seen both in the early 70's. Frampton had a band then called Frampton's Camel. Yes was awesome. Enjoy the show and bring back pics............ 8) Mike

Very cool! I wanted to go see Yes when they were going to come to town a couple of years ago. They had to cancel the show for "health reasons". I guess that's what happens when your favorite musicians are old enough to be your grandparents.

 that is very funny Texas, however, I saw those bands together on the same bill at an outdoor festival at Hawthorne racetrack (southwest of Chicago in a town called Cicero, you guessed it, the late Alphonse Capone's old stomping grounds) in late August or early September of '76, Gary Wright, Peter Frampton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Yes. Patrick Moraz was the keyboardist for Yes replacing Rick Wakeman on that tour. 8)

Unfortunately Jon Anderson is suffering from massive problems associated with his asthma. So much so that this tour w/ Frampton is WITHOUT him. So ... to be honest ... this really isn't a true Yes concert. It can't be without Jon. They are playing in my neck of the woods, too, but I can't go as I will be gone when they are here. It would be very interesting to see this line up.

That being said, this is not without precedent. Yes broke up around 1980. Without Jon Anderson, they recorded the album "Drama" and toured with Trevor Horn on vocals (not to be confused with Trevor Rabin). Drama is the forgotten album, but ... ironically ... is one of my favorites. All Yes fans should check it out if they do not have it.

As for how good it will be ... To me, you get out of a Yes concert what you bring. The more you love and know their music, the more you will enjoy it. The real treat is what non-standards they will play beyond "Roundabout", Starship Trooper", "Seen All Good People" and "Long Distance Runaround". Once when I saw them, they played the 25-minute epic "Revealing Science of God". Now that was amazing. No matter what, you are in for a real treat. The closer you are to see Steve Howe's playing is that much more of a bonus. Hopefully, he will play both "the Clap" and "Mood for a Day" -- if so, the price you paid for entry is well worth it (times ten, in fact). As far as I am concerned, Steve Howe is the most talented rock guitar player ever. You can talk "favorites" all day long, but no one has more guitar-playing talent than Howe. No one (at least in the rock genre) ...

I saw yes a few months ago, the replacement sounds exactly like jon anderson (he was in a yes tribute band).
You wont be disapointed.

Never was a big Yes fan but saw Frampton back in 77 and he was truly amazing. In a way I am glad the long hair is gone as there were so many girls at that show and he was such a heartthrob during this period that it almost hurt his credentials as a great player through no fault of his own. But today his voice is still in great shape and he is even a better player now. I would love to see Yes just to see Steve Howe who as 01GT is just a beast on the fretboard. You will definitely have a hell of a time, enjoy.
