crap? i disagree. i wish i had the computer smarts to post a vid. then, you would hear crap. sounded good to me dude.
i practice alot without a pick for that reason. it happens. sometimes i dig the differnt' tones i get without a pick.

Tell you what mate, you've got the ear for hard and soft places. Some great choices in that and some even greater uses of passing notes. The treble on that sound seemed way too much.
I did think it could be my rubbish laptop speakers, but theres a definite lack of middle to the sound. Try tempering your treble a bit and bringing the mids back in. It could just be my rubbish speakers or a multitude of other things affecting how I'm hearing it though.

Another thing I'm really pleased about is that you didnt try to hide your playing behind a load of effects. You use even less than I do, I'd better knuckle down and get with the program.

Get the upper fret choking on the guitar sorted out, relax a bit more with your thumb and I reckon you'll be well on the way to the Albert hall.

you are a gentleman and a scholar. as for the treble, thats a result of the bad microphone thats in my computer not liking the light distortion i was using

my newest attempt at the blues (i'm more of a steve vai type guitarist so i REALLY have the tendency to just want to set the neck ablaze with a very fast solo)
