crap! well one day and hopefully I am not the only one, one day I hope to know what it is like to play a gig!

work hard at it and i'm positive you can do it

right now i am just trying to get "good enough" to play at the local blues jam, thats my goal #1 so far as playing a "gig" goes. There are all levels of players out there but I want to make sure when I step up there I am prepared enough not to sound like hard boiled crap. I recently learned Stormy Monday and The Thrill Is Gone, which are two widely played songs at the jam so now I need to figure out one more since the sets are 3 songs per set. Of course it would help to be able to solo to those songs as well, but I am working on that.

One step at a time BlackCatBone. I believe you will get there! As I said to all_thumbs09 on fbook earlier, I'm just a hack in disguise and luck has guided me more than skill or talent. This forum is great cos we have hobbyists, beginners, pros, semi-pros, former pros and collectors all helping each other out with the info we need.

Anyone can get to any point they wish. If someone had told the 9 year old me putting posters of Guns N' Roses on my wall what I would accomplish I would NEVER have believed them.

Go tear the world a new arsehole and get yourself in that jam!

Big time! There should be the equivalent of the RSPCA for neglected instruments.

Also, that's why Stradlin is the way to go!

The most fun I had gigging was when we played a return engagement at a new resort in a popular cabin area.We had played at the grand opening a couple of months before and went over well so they got us back. The week before we played the Molson Canadian Rockstop had passed through there and we figured we'd have a bad weekend as the Rockstop had some of the best bands in the province. We played to a packed house every night and they shattered all records for bar sales. We were given the penthouse suites and treated to the private dining room as a token of their appreciation and spent our days lounging by the pool hobnobbing with the guests and never had to buy a drink. That was the life,I could have quite easily gotten used to it.

For less than a year you are top notch, as I said in a post to you earlier in this thread, EVERYTHING is possible.
