My experience with online reviews is that only those who feel very strongly take the time to post them, whether it's because they love the item or they hate it.

If they have a middle of the road opinion it seems they're less likely to post anything in the way of a review. We have some Gator cases for our band and we've had no complaints with any of them.

I like the black one. :)

Tweed with rounded corners and no dark leather trim looks funny to me.

yeah. i like the black one more too but it doesn't suit the personality of my '72 thinline reissue as much as the tweed does and i'm a little strapped for cash but thats what happens when you spend $900 on a guitar

I get your point. I checked the price of the case at Musician's Friend and it looks like a real bargain and good protection to me. :)

Well I never checked one out but they look good. I also never read a review on one but since they seem to be a bite off of a G&G case I bet the negative reviews probably say they are not really sturdy.

That is an economy wood case. Sweetwater is doing a sale on the Gator molded case for the same price right now. That would be my choice over the wood case... regardless of how cool that tweed looks!

The molded case just looks like it will handle the bumps a little better. The tweed has no corner protection and I think it might get a bit ratty looking in a short time on the road.

My 2¢ worth.

Molded ones do have the advantage of taking the bumps/bruises with little in the way of lasting marks on them.

If you really want a headache try finding a good price on a hard case for a short scale bass, it's the proverbial needle-in-the-haystack.
