I have not really paid much attention to Muse; but since they are in the US (I guess that doesn't happen very often) at Coachella, I was trolling the net and found this. It is interesting, and somehow actually seems cool to me (and I'm old, fat, and bald). I wonder if you really need to be able to play guitar to use it though?

He's a good player but I doubt the next gen will be playing that. Muse were number 3 in the singles charts here in the UK in the late 90's so they've been about for a bit.

He has some very weird but very nice instruments. I also like what he does as a player even though I wouldn't call myself much of a fan.

Pretty innovative guitar,I can see Adrian Belew and Robert Fripp getting in line to get one.

It looks like a cool setup for sure, but I really hope that music will evolve while continuing to use good ol Fender Tele's and Strats and regular guitars!

Muse is a great band, but I think I would go nuts having too much electronics on my guitar... :?

It would be very judgemental if I were to say I think the guitar sounds like crap ... So, I won't say that...

I'll just say I don't like it ... at all...

I actually like The Muse...they are one of those bands thats pretty huge everywhere else in the world but the United States...They sellout arenas worldwide as headliners, but in the States, the only way they can get into comparable venues is to open for U2 or My Chemical Romance... :x

Belew won't have to get this one, he has one of his own:

Matt Bellamy of Muse was named the best guitarist of the last 10 years in Total Guitar magazine earlier this year. Here I'd been playing for 2 years and I'd never heard of him or Muse myself. That genre of music escapes even my open mind. That guitar with the little screen interface on it is too out there for me. I don't even own a pedal.

I see his name everywhere and also have that issue of Total Guitar but really dont know much about him. From what I have seen on youtube he has nice chops but plays those video game type leads that lack any emotion.

It's kind of a cool idea, but if I wanted something that sounded like that I would have just played a synthesizer.

And to be honest it looks like something that could have been from Star Trek, the original series. All those flashy little sixties lights. Not that that's totally bad, just not my cup of tea. :)

there was a movie called 'Mr Gadget' for those that aren't happy making music with a guitar and occasionally some feedback apparently there are plenty of gadgets to spend your money on perhaps that company will put a little midi screen on a violin or cello or a saxophone, Texas said it best "if I wanted something that sounded like that I would have just played a synthesizer. "

I like muse in general, but their new album wasn't up to par.
I wouldn't mind one of those guitars to be honest.

I expect Gibson to have a model similar to that debut any day now.

Seems to be getting away from playing the guitar and moving into how many, how much and how loud.

Where's the music?
