Im completely stranded in some alien land called Lincolnshire. All I really want to do is get back to England. On a sunny day I can even see the place, and we get news piped in. It's just not the same though.

Ah, yes. I'd forgotten your geographic roots, both given and acquired. This business has brought out a most interesting side of the international community. There are New York area families actually going out to the airports and offering the hospitality of their homes to stranded travelers until arrangements can be made to ferrying them out of here. I saw a piece to that effect on the newscast last night. Fabulous. This whole business must be taken with some seriousness. We're inured to the fragility of entire civilzation when it comes to the impact of natura forces. There's a volcanic island in the Canary Group that is slowly splitting apart. Part of the big island of Hawaii is showing the classical signs of fracture and collapse typical of those shield volcanoes, and end of everything we know and hold dear is sitting under Yellowstone Caldera just waiting.
