Hi, all,
I am 60. I have a badly blown S-1 L-5 disc, and right shoulder that needs replacement. I dislocated it back in the 80's and the osteophytes have been growing and grinding since. I take blood pressure medication to keep from stroking out.

I am over all fit due to years of construction work. People think I'm 40-something. And I think it's because I have the expectation that I will not grow old. I eat real clean, fish and veggies. More fruit than anyone I know.
Right now, I'm trying to get down to 180lbs, from 190. this will be fantastic.
I want to be a skinny musician. Maybe I'll get a sharkskin suit and some skinny ties.

One thing you need to do, especially if you are a man, is:

Have sex.

I know society and religion has made you feel bad about being a man, but the way you were designed, you need to flex the prostate or it will turn to stone. Reclaim your maleness. Start you own enterprise, fire any woman who criticises you and your plans. Create a work of art. Picasso was making babies into his 90's.
Then report back here, and tell us how it's going.....

You guys are all way too old, and we are going to have to ask you to leave.

Seriously, I will be 60 this month. Most people would love to have my health. :)

I ache at times from things I have done in the past. Bad back, dislocated shoulder a few times and right knee aches often. High blood pressure med and another to keep the mood good every day. My jaw aches with the weather where a foreign object was introduced by a firearm in the past

I still I to do the wild thing sometimes and do it well. Don't do much hunting in summer make up for it fishing and target range shooting, and jumping on the Buell lighting.

Masterhacker, sorry about your health issues you have a good attitude that is a great help. I have most of the issues associated with aging ( going to be 60) and some extra issues as a result of sports injuries when much younger, play on Bro.

Ha - I know all about that S1-L5 thing. All I'm going to comment on this "family friendly" website is... your medicine works! :D

This helps too. This year I'm down from about 170 to exactly 154 / 70kg. Feels good...

Cheers - C

Being too skinny sucks big time, my parents say I'm almost anerexic, which I think if I get any thinner I will be.

I'm a member of the L5-S1 club also, that's where my fusion is so sit ups are out of the question but at least it doesn't interfere with the horizontal slam dance lol.

I'm 59 now and I've got COPD which makes life difficult, always breathless. I haven't done gigs for a while now, I can't carry my amp to the front door but I play for about 90 mins every morning and make myself stand up to do it but it's tiring.
Also got all these crazy allergies and things but the music pulls me through.
Just love to play my guitars in the morning, it's my own little heaven. :D

I'm 53 yrs old have had a heart attack, thyroid cancer, 3 rotator cuff surgeries and also have to shoot myself 4 times daily for diabetes. Yet through it all I love the thought of being able to make folks wonder how this fat guy with the cool guitars keeps going?? It's the thought of having sex(LOL). Keep playing it'll turn on someone, even if it's yourself...

I turned 40 back in January and it's all been down hill for me since.
Physically I've got 2 bulging discs in my lower back and my knees are shot after a few snowski injuries in my 20s. Mentally I'm on anti-depressants, Valium, and Temazepan. Last week I found out I probably have a genetic blood disorder (haemochromatosis - too much iron) which could involve some rather unpleasant treatments but apart from that I'm a picture of good health!

When I look at some of the stuff other people have to deal with though, the few pains I've got don't seem all that bad anymore...

Alan saab- Have you tried cortisone for your knees? It's cheap and it makes them like new again. Might work for your other pains as well...
