Tomorrow, April 15 will be the 63rd Anniversary of Jackie Robinson becoming the first African American to take the field in a Major League Baseball game.

God Bless him for having the courage and conviction to smash down the racial barriers that were in sports at the time but sadly still are in some places and sports.Racism and ignorance should be painful.

Absolutely fantastic! Love those marked barriers, every one of them is a marker on our world moving forward and hopefully one day being united as one!

It's also the 98th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic and the 145th anniversary of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln.

Yup, I was where the Titanic was built yesterday in the area of our city known as the Titanic Quarter. Very sad but the tragedy helped our riddance of class systems so again it should be marked as the world moving onward. God bless.

Quite tragic indeed. It also taught us the folly of absolutes. I believe there was a quote attributed to Mr. Bruce Ismay where he claimed that "God Himself couldn't sink this ship!" Well Mr. Ismay, yes He can.

Exactly! There is a Titanic festival that's been going on in Belfast the last few years. Its fascinating! A couple of years back we got the Nomadic back here, a small go between that was used to ferry the passengers to the Titanic in France because it was too big to enter most ports back then. I've been on it and its quite spooky, its been in Harland and Wolff since that day being restored, hope they show it here again and let us on board also.

Thanks for posting that. I used to collect McFarlane sports figures and I was telling my wife the story of Jackie Robinson one day and she thought it was amazing. About 3 weeks after that I come home to find a Jackie Robinson figure on our couch with a note from my wife. It was one of the coolest little gifts she ever got me. He is a person that children in North America should learn about in school.

Did anyone catch any games or highlights from games on the 15th?

Every single player wore Jackie Robinson's #42 on his jersey!!!

What a fantastic tribute!
