Today I got the Lenny Breau compilation CD of Five O'Clock Bells and Mo' Breau, the man is absolutely astounding. With no overdubs he manages to play lead rythym and bass runs at one time,I can hardly believe what I'm hearing.Lenny's rendition of My Funny Valentine is frankly incredible,do yourself a favour and pick up this CD it was only $17 delivered to Canada from CD Universe. Well worth the price for getting blown away.

Lenny might have been the best technical guitarist ever. I have been trying to run down all of his stuff ever since i met Randy Bachman, and he told me about learning guitar from lenny, and told me to look into his stuff. This was 20 or so years ago, when he played a club I worked at.

I watched the Youtube Lenny Breau footage and was even more impressed with the man's playing.Just to watch Lenny's fingers move so effortlessly while playing things that I would have thought impossible to play without overdubs is simply fascinating.I could watch him play for hours and I'll be checking the CD Universe website to see if they haave any videos of his playing.I think it was George Benson that said no player could do what Lenny did and that's fact he was a modern day wonder of the same caliber as Mozart and Paganini.

Thanks Claude I really enjoyed that though a few pieces I could not find. I would love to see the complete documentary uncut. For as stern as Chet Atkins always seemed he honestly seemed to get a kick from trom telling Lenny's drug stories. I hope today there is at least a proper stone on his grave site.
