I haven't been around here all the time lately and checked in to find two amazing new Strats - the American Special and the new Am Dx. When I saw the American Special, I couldn't believe it, because I did that one myself. I took a Highway One and dropped Custom Shop Texas Specials in it. Sounds great. I love it. I play it every day pretty much. Now, we can get one off the shelf, which is a lot less hassle than hot-rodding. I've got to say this new American Deluxe really looks great. Even as much as I love my guitar, I'm thinking about giving it to one of my littler kids when they get older, since one of them wants to paint flames on it. The Am Dx does look to blow away my Hotrodded Highway. It's got the innovative fretboard, the contoured heel, noiseless pickups that sound like single-coils from what I can tell on youtube, the roller nut, the staggered and locking tuners. Man what a guitar! It's giving me a bad case of gas. Haven't seen the new American Deluxe in my area yet. Anyone have a chance to play the new American Deluxe?
