Inspired by the hottest Chili story, I write this (true experience, not kidding)

I remember when I was at a bible camp in March, and on the last day (fresh at seven thirty in the morning) one of the counselors brought out this bottle called "Demon Ichor," which was supposedly the hottest sauce in the world.

Here's a list of "Its so hot"... 8)

It's so hot that its sole purpose is to burn people's tongues.

It's so hot that you have to take a toothpick and dip it in the bottle..and only cover not even a third of the toothpick with the sauce, or you'll burn yourself. you have to keep it on your tongue and not touch your lips or anything else with it, or they will BURN :x

It's so hot that even if you touch the bottle, you have to wash your hands because of the chemicals in the sauce that can leak out of the bottle.

Well, I decided that I would show them up (not that I'm a bragger or anything... :) ) by putting the sauce on my tongue and just sitting there acting like it wasn't so hot. After I was warned about the Hotness of it, I scraped it on my tongue as directed. I was thinking this while it was on my tongue: "wow, this isn't as hot as I thought it was. Whatabuncha liars!"

Haha...I walked away, thinking about tellin' my dad this. HOWEVER, no one told me to NOT swallow the sauce. So, not knowing this, I swallow and go into through the WORST burn I've ever had in my life

My throat "caught fire" and I freaked, running to the cooler and downing three or four pints of milk and then half a gallon of water, before walking to my counselor Kyle, hacking and coughing away. The burn ended up waiting half the day before going completely away.

So, that's my story about that. Of course, being the nuthead I am, I'd try it again if I had the choice. Anyone else got an experience in any way shape or form like this at all?

I prefer jamaican hot pepper sauce to tabasco. I do a bottle of tabasco in 2 weeks. I couldnt do one in a week.

Why are we such masochists, is it really just the endorphine rush?

I used to eat dried birdseye chilli's like candy, them days are gone though.

I'm the same with the dried chilli mate. I munch away at it on its own and put it on everything I eat, even Vindaloo. I can't get enough of hot food but I think with being a heavy smoker for 12 years my taste buds just aren't as receptive as most peoples. The booze can't help either!

[EDIT]: Sayin that, ma arse is just as sensitive as most peoples! Theres a lot to be said for Johnssons Baby Wipes being put in the fridge the night before!

Mate I've never had a sore rear unless the food has been bad and hot. Even during gulf war 1(I was 18/19) when I wandered into a takeaway during a pub crawl, shouted 'oi Saddam gimme the hotest curry you got'. The curry gave me burns around the mouth that I ended up going to hospital for. I didnt get the ring of fire though.

Some ropey chicken in a korma can get me screaming in the morning though.

I'd be suprised if my body even bothers with the endorphines anymore. I cant remember the list time mah lips burned or nose ran from eating something others would define as spicy!

I think ya may have a point there Kev! I could have prolly had a proper funeral for my taste buds a few decades ago.

Oddly enough, I rarely ever get the "morning after" burn

BTW... My current favorite hot sauce is "Hellfire damnation" its a carrot based habanero sauce. Its tough to find on a local basis, but can be ordered online thru "The pepper palace" in Gatlinburg TN.

You both are lucky, my mouth is always fine and then the next day it's Jonny Cash singing Ring of Fire with a nice porcelain reverb goin on!

Usually worth it though.

I'll tell you this for sure: the pastor was NOT Antone Lavey. As for what type of bible camp,.....ya know, i don't even know. While there was the normal worship and stuff like that, there was a lot of other stuff since we had, I guess you could say, private land for the camp. It has this huge gym and my best guess would be the land was about 1-2 square miles. So we had lots goin on, such as a SCREAMO Christian rock band (yes, weird but true) playing at 12:30 at night.

My counselors were off the charts. They did a buncha funny and stupid stuff, like bring one of the worlds hottest sauces to a bible camp.

Don't ask me why..cuz I won't know the exact answer :)

I didn't read every response to the OP but I would have to say Daves Insanity Sauce. I put a teaspoon into a pot with a 16 oz can of refried beans to make a burrito and when I tasted it..... it was like molten glass on my tongue... it was so hot it was unbelievable. Then I read the directions and it said something like 1 teaspoon per gallon or some b.s. I was really kinda ticked off about it for a long time. It should give a warning in big letters, why even sell it.

Mate if I went to one of them things I'd like it to be like that one you describe.

I know the pastor wasnt Antone Lavey I didnt mean to cause you any offense. It's just very surreal scenario for my idea of Bible camp.

Perhaps Chilli Campf would be a better name.
