For those in the UK, Guitar Heroes at the BBC II just started on BBC 4.

Ry Cooder, Angus Young, Paul Kossoff, Manitas de Plata, Pete Townshend, Peter Green, Hendrix, Jonny Winter.

Enjoy!

Rub it in. Dammit, we need Guitar Heroes on ABC here. That'd be one show I'd be watching, right now I'm at 0. About to cancel cable TV altogether, too distracting from playing and nothing but crap.

A mate I feel for you. Dunno how your tv packages are geared up. Over here we have the BBC, then some other pair of chancers that try to keep up.

Nah not really, not been like that for some years now.

Though the BBC is ahead of the commercial channels and very worth the liscense fee. We also get another forty odd channels that are free to view, then sky (satelite/cable) channels that simply are not worth the cost of the electricity involved to switch the tv on. I ditched the sky package a couple of years back. I've literaly spent two years looking at their listings to see if theres anything worth watching. Aside from repeats of old BBC shows theres nothing.

long live the Beeb.

I just checked on BBC Canada on the faint chance that they may have carried it,all that's on is Urban Legends. You guys across the pond get way better programs than the mundane, boring rot that we get here that's aimed squarely at the hopelessly obtuse.

What does the BBC charge for license fee now?

£145/$222.

Absolutely better value than BSkyB or any of the cable packages

We have the lowest cost cable that Comcast offer in our area and it sets me back $828.00 a year, not many good channels on over the air free TV. Not many free channels period.

for me here in germany is the best show the "rockpalast" on wdr tv (free tv).
since '77 live shows, festival shows...
but like most tv stations: live music comes on sunday late in the evening or early morning...grrrrr.
but better as nothing.

http://www.wdr.de/tv/rockpalast/

cheers :D
