Post subject: Custom pickguard question

Has anyone here put a custom pickguard on their guitar, say in a swirl or pears or tie dye, just some pattern "out of the norm" as it were.

I'm aware I'll have to dismantle and do a tracing, no problem there. But I'm looking for something more visually pleasing on my Vista Tone Musicmaster bass, right now it's white guard, white body, white headstock, could use a little color.... 8)

If anybody has any recommendations, where you bought one, or where a friend has gotten one.

Thanx for any info you could offer.
