Malcolm Young...always overshadowed by Angus

Absolutely!! Although the guy has come up with majority of the opening riffs etc for the songs and probably the lyrics (apart from Brian), he's ultimately going to go down in history as "that other guitarist in ACDC" which although sad, probably doesn't really bother Malcolm at all.

Two excellent but very under rated musicians in my opinion!

Good call ABS bro!

In addition to Stradlin, Barre and Charlton I'd like to add Rick Richards of Georgia Satellites fame.

Here's my top 10 list of the most underrated guitar players of the last 50 years and feel free to mock/post your own

10. Albert lee
9. Jeff Beck
8. Tom Morello
7. Albert Collins
6. Johnny Winter
5. Kurt Cobain
4. Jose Feliciano
3. Roy Clark
2. Duane Allman
1. Joe Pass

Hmm, actually these guitarists almost all get a serious amount of recognition, don't think any of them qualify for underrated. Specially not Jeff Beck, he might not have had the album sales he's deserved at various times but I'd say he's always been very highly 'rated' by most everybody!

Rebelsoul's mention of Jack Pearson reminded me of how good Jack is...I only know of him thru his association with the Allman Bros., and I really don't know much about him at all. I found this clip on YouTube; absolutely jaw-dropping, 3 minutes of guitar bliss.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qKiOg9U6gY

I've watched Jack many times in small clubs here 10 feet away from him,and he is awesome, simply amazing that he isn't that well known.
Thanks for the clip.
