Rebelsoul's mention of Jack Pearson reminded me of how good Jack is...I only know of him thru his association with the Allman Bros., and I really don't know much about him at all. I found this clip on YouTube; absolutely jaw-dropping, 3 minutes of guitar bliss.

HELL YES! I've always loved his style; he never overplays and just adds to the song, never putting himself in the spotlight and taking away from it.

Ry Cooder never gets mentioned when people talk of the blues greats, but to my ears he's the greatest slide guitarist EVER. Yes, even better than Duane.

Thanks for posting that, Sunburst! He has a wonderful economy of motion...doesn't need to bounce all over the place making faces to convince me that he knows what he's doing with that thing.
