In my opinion most of the lists put out are quite lame and leave off my Favorites. I have decided to make my own list. These are in no particular order.

Carl Feathers
Robben Ford
SRV
Jimi Hendrix
Chet Atkins
Gary Moore
Brian Setzer
Eric Clapton
Duane Allman & Richard Betts
Peter Frampton
Jorma Kaukonen
John Lennon & George Harrison
David Gilmour
Brian May
Mark Knopfler
Pete Townsend
Jimmy Page
Carlos Santana
Vince Gill
Lita Ford

Well, Chet, your list sure kick the stuffing out of the BBC list; that's for sure.

I saw Vince Gill just rip it up at a concert in Cali. Did you see his Christmas special, when he played with Chet Atkins? That was epic.

Is that the show where Chet autographed one of his guitars and presented it to Vince? That was a moment for sure!!

You mentioned Danny Gatton. Here is the line of succession:

Gatton - Vince Gill/Steve Wariner - Brent Mason - Brad Paisley - emerging, the amazing teenager, Sol Philcox: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18qh-BLKOEo[/url]

It great to see you include Chet Atkins but no Roy Clark? You no how most on here are Rockers and many young ones. They don't know the play of Roy Clark, Glen Campbell, Don Rich, James Burton most probably don't no of The Wrecking Crew though they probably have listened to them.

Nice additions CV, also Jerry reed from that bunch.

it's kind of a shame Glen Campbell had such a huge hit with Rhinestone Cowboy, as that is now what a lot of people think of as soon as they hear his name, and have no idea what the bulk of his material is really like.

I heard a lot of Glen Campbell when I was a kid. Mum was a big fan - I can still remember lyrics to things like Wichita Lineman, By the Time I get to Phoenix and yes - Rhinestone Cowboy.

I'm pretty sure I still have "The Astounding 12-String Guitar of Glen Campbell" on vinyl somewhere.

Glen did session work for the Byrds...and most of the guitar you hear on the Monkees albums is him too.

I limited myself to 20 otherwise a lot of those named would have been added.

Glen Campbell was a studio musician that also worked on some of The Beach Boys albums.
