Been on a photo shoot for promo pic's all day (very tiring work). Anyhow our drummer asked me to drop some jazz drumsticks in to a vintage instrument shop. What did I see for sale among the plethora of amps and guitars.

This little beauty for £50.

1973 all original, immaculate condition. It's sat on my table now.

Who's a lucky boy then.

You must have a lucky horseshoe inserted somewhere to make a find like that.

Well lads I can tell you I'm very much in two minds about this pedal. I always adjust my wah's pot positions to give me the Q of the sweep just slightly down of center. This thing seems to have either a great wah sound or a great fuzz sound. The fuzz doesnt really grab you until your on full treble. To do that means the last bit of Q is right at the heel down of the rocker pedal.

And it smells inside, like a old pair of socks left in a sealed box for years.

It is great for wah'ing on a already fuzzed sound.

Anyhow now that photobucket is now my friend again, heres some pictures.

From this next picture I suspect its a 67. The casing is pure first issue but casings change over years. I for instance put my jen wahwah in a dunlop casing, purely because it has a longer sweep than the old casing. The caps and the trashcan inductor (if anyone knows about inductors please lecture me) point to late 67/ early 68 when they transfered from Halo inductors to coloured fasels. They used these trashcan (????) inductors then dropped them for coloured fasels. I have a hunch that with wah's they opted for trashcans later up around 77-80. All speculation on my part nothing fact.

Thanks for posting your find when you did, nikininja... Jen wahs have been in the back of my mind since then, and although I've no real funds as I'm shortly to be out of a job I found an old Jen Mister Crybaby Super here on Oz eBay: mine for AUD $61! Even a soon-to-be-worthless-bum can't turn that down. it's not far from me, either... I'll probably be able to walk around and pick it up... 8)

(that's about £35)

Wow thanks Mike.
People carry on about fasels, like their the only part of the circuit. I've a sneaking suspicion that theres far more to it than that.
