I made a thread a while back about DeArmond's and severals posted pics and so forth.

My question is what are the main differences between the Starfire and the X (X-315, X-155) series?

I know the two I am looking at seem very similiar save for the Starfire having a double cutaway and the X-135 having only the neck pup, but both have the Goldtones hbuckers.

How do they compare sizewise? The Starfire looks like it isnt as thick and boxy as the 135.

Any feedback will be appreciated. I have decided I have to get one of these after playing a few Guilds (which i cant afford).

SAMPLE pics of both I have been looking at:

Also does $95 for a Starfire like the one pictured in flawless condition with minimal fret wear sound too high? I was thinking that sounded like a steal considering what they go for on ebay. A guy a few towns over has the Starfire

Take a ride and play the guitar. $95? no missing zeros? Run don't walk and post pictures.
Good luck,

hahha sorry $495, does that sound better? I have played a Starfire single cutaway and really liked it but the guy wanted $700 and I thought that was a bit steep

I just used the pics from Elderly for reference, It is still available, I played it today and it was super, I still think $495 might be a bit steep...or maybe not but I am going to look around and play a few more before deciding. Nice video, great tone, the pups sound super...definitely didnt sound that good when I played it! haha
