I just saw Pat Metheny last night from the second row at the CAC in Morgantown WV on his latest tour. WOW!!
I have seen the Pat Metheny Group about 10 times before, but this latest one man show was outstanding. His tour and album are called "Orchestrion", and he does all of the music by himself, with the help of about 50 other instruments that he triggers and controls from his guitarsand FEET.
It was the most unusual, inventive and facinating show I have ever seen. He is truly a genius in the world of guitar, and displays a true sense of imagination. I first saw him in 1982, and his playing has only gotten better with the years. He is a master of the guitar in all of it's forms.
Whether you like him or not, check out his latest project, and you will find something the likes of which you have NEVER seen, I guarantee!!

I wrote a thread about Pat's Orchestrion a while back,you're right,the man is incredible.He demonstrates the Orchestrion on his Facebook site and it is simply a brilliant creation,the work of a musical genius.I saw Pat and Roy Buchanan on a double bill back in the 76-77 era and it was an amazing concert.Players like Methany don't come along very often.

I have only seen him on dvd, or tv.
He truly is one of the most versatile guitarists out there.

Wow.. Pat Metheny is a genius, I'd love to see him play live.

But I saw Richard Thompson from 10 feet away last year - totally different genre, but waaaay cool guitarist.
