This is a spin off of the "How many guitar do you have?" thread.

Lets be honest. We don't NEED 30 guitars. How many do you honestly think you need? I could probably be ok w/ 5. 2 electrics....1 w/ tremelo and 1 w/out, a good steel string A/E and a nylon and like a 5 string bass. 6 if you count an A/E mandolin. That being said, I don't think I'll be selling any anytime soon. I reached 15 (17 counting mandolins) and kinda feel like I'm done. There's only 4 more I'd like to get and I could part with 2 from my collection.

need?! well, i would say, 1 good electric, 1 good steel stringed acoustic, and 1 good nylon stringed acoustic, then you have all your bases covered. And even that, given what i play might be more luxury than need.

I have a lot more than that, and I don't have a nylon stringer, but it would be nice to have around.

I need only 3. A vintage Guild acoustic, a Telecaster and a Vintage Guild Hollow-body...but I could live with just having the vintage Hollow-body

It's always good to have a couple of Stratocasters at a gig in case you break a string.

That's assuming that you aren't a Tele man ...

I don't need 21 guitars, but since I could afford it and have room for them, why not?...I've wasted more money on worse things like strippers and liquor...at least the guitars don't use you and don't leave you hungover...

I would suggest Alain look into a 12 step program, if I didn't enjoy his threads so much. I guess I am an enabler!!
