I had to go to two such functions for church last year. The no iPods, no guitars thing really got me. I can easily live without my phone. I just brought some guitar magazines with me so that I wouldn't go crazy. Luckily, on the last one they had a couple of guitars there that belonged to the youth leader. I grabbed one (I asked for permission of course) and I got to jam for a while. And I met another kid there who played guitar and loves SRV and Hendrix, so we had a lot to talk about. And we got to jam too, since there were two guitars. I expected it to be extremely boring, but it actually turned out all right because of that. So who knows, maybe it will be a good experience. I hope it will be.
