I'm not sure if anyone has ever covered anything by Nickleback, but if there are covers out there that would be an improvement...oh how I hate Nickelback.

They did one with The Dubliners but it's much more Dubliners than Pogues

I love the version of the Version Of Man of La Mancha (Don Quiote) done by Linda Eder. No i'm not a fancy pants because i'm referring to a Broadway show tune but that woman has an AMAZING voice. The band is SO tight too.

Ok... its not a rock band but its still great music

Walking in Memphis - Lonestar (not sure who did it first)

and of course best cover of all time

Johnny Cash's rendition of Hurt by NIN

"Walking in Memphis" is by Marc Cohn...who is married to Elizabeth Vargas (the host of ABC's "20/20")...I have to be cautious watching her in the presence of my wife...gorgeous!

+1 on "Hurt" by Johnny Cash...

John R. Cash's version of "Rusty Cage" is better than the original, too.

I hate Nickleback too. That whole genre has gotten so old. I wish Disney would stop pumping it out. But, hey, those 14 years boys probably cant get enough of it.
If only Cobain had lived a few years longer, so he wouldn't have been canonized as a martyr, the whole thing would have faded away to a bad memory, and we would have been spared his banal spiritual successors in "Creed of a System of a Dead Nickel Doors Man Back Down"

I wouldn't pay a plugged nickle for a Nickleback CD.They're a disgrace to Canada and give Canadian talent a bad name in that they have none.

Whiskey In the Jar is actually an Irish folk song thats hundreds of years old. Metallica's version is horrible IMO.

CC

I aware of it being an old irish folk song.Ive heard it how it was, thin lizzys and metallicas and i think metallicas is the best. Are you a thin lizzy fan then?

Not really bro, I just don't like Metallica's version. Sounds like they are just goin through the motions. A good Irish rock band playing it in a club in Dublin or Belfast is how it should be done. 8)

CC

Metal licker have ever done a good cover???

Thats nearly as smackity as the SRV voodoo chile comment.

Metal licker should just play ghey poser metal like they do nowadays. SRV shouldnt have covered hendrix ever, he owed far too much to him anyway.

Facts of life no2.
