We're going on a holiday up north soon, for two weeks, and last time we went on a holiday I nearly died of GAS, meaning I wanted to play my guitar but iit was like, 1000 kms away, and this time i can take one of them :) . But theres one problem, we're going to the heart of the rainforest, we're its very humid, like the walls drip with water at times. i'm a bit worried about my guitar going up in that sort of weather, but I cant live without it for a like three days. Any suggestions?

You could go to a paint supplier and buy yourself some desiccant. Fill a sock or stocking with it and keep it and the guitar in the case when you're not playing.

We're staying there for 2 weeks, so will just one sock full of absorb the moisture for that amount of time?

Just get yourself one of those 20 buck acoustics you see on ebay and take that. Then it won't matter if it warps and whatever else.

But if you're heading right up north and want to use the dessicant (or dampsorb etc) you'll go through a fair bit.

I would think so. We use about 10 pounds of the stuff a year in the driers on our paint booth and it handles 1500-1800 jobs in that time. It should handle a couple weeks of that humidity.

Two weeks with out isn't going to kill ya! Vacation is time for things you don't always have access to do.

Up north? That's where the tree dwelling funnel web spiders rule the night.

Stay near a phone, Riley.

The ones that scare me are Brown Recluses. My dad almost died from one of them. Where the thing bite him the skin just started dying in a circle on out and deeper.

We've had no deaths from funnel-web bites in 30 years, but it does pay to be careful...
