Turn the volume down and get a little distance from the amp. If you're using a lot of gain, turn that down too.

I've seen some cheaper humbucker copies that were actually single coils made up to look like humbuckers. Is your LP copy a cheaper brand or one of the better ones such as Epi or Tokai? As 63 Supro stated you may be too close to the amp and/or have your levels to loud, also the angle of the guitar in relation to the position of the amp can make a difference.

Or, whatever they are, they may need to be potted. FWIW though, they may not be worth it.

the copper shielding tape in the cavity did wonders for my strat. i put a hotter pickup in and it's quiet as a duck-billed platypus. just a suggestion.
it's very inexpensive and easy.

At the time I wa using a Super Champ XD, with a boss ds1 distortion and a cry baby wah. I have never really had this happen before, but I was alittle louder than normal because the wife was out with the kids. IMO I wasn't at a level that should cause the sorts of feedback I was recieving.
