It's on my wish list. :)
I played it in the shop (through a Frontman 212R, so nothing fancy) and it kicked me in the guts the second I touched the strings.
I totally loved it, very responsive, a real live one, wailing and screaming.
And it looks better than the pics.
I heard the production was delayed because of inconsistency problems, so you may prefer to check it in person, not order it online. The one I tried though was impeccable and well set up out of the box. Totally changed my perception of "Crafted in Indonesia".

For P-90s, you may also want to look at
Classic Player Tele Deluxe Black Dove

and
Squier Vintage Modified Tele Custom II (the tone is truly there, value for money for sure)

Still, out of the three, the JA-90 is my winner, no contest.

I have a TC90 - set neck, P90's.

Warm with neck pup - creamy with neck and bridge pup, a bit more sharp with some Tele twang with the bridge pup. I love the guitar, I love the sound, it is a very versatile in my opinion.

Always been a fan of the TC-90 and missed the boat sadly. Played a JA-90 in Matchett's here in Belfast not long ago and it was lovely. Great resonance acoustically and my fingers flowed on it. Plugged in was even better, exactly what I predicted with the unplugged resonance, it soared and chords were very clear.
The finish was lovely and I was surprised at no flaws in finish and fitting with a good glance over.
Only thing that gets me is the 'name' attached to it. It shouldn't bother me but it does.

If it doesn't bother you then def check them out but as has been said before, try before you buy and make sure you get a good one. Production on these is likely to be erratic at best.

Happy hunting,

CC

+1

(Fortunately the name is very discrete, on the back of the headstock. And at least here in Romania, the usual question I hear about Jim Adkins is "Jim who?")

I've had the JA-90 for about a month. I have the Crimson red model; it is gorgeous. It is my first thinline, so I didn't know what to expect. Unplugged it sounds very nice and lively. It is also my first guitar with P-90s. They are very versatile; they go from mellow to hot. It doesn't have the typical telecaster twang though. Two things that I don't like: 1) the tuners feel cheap to me, so I upgraded them to Klusons today; 2) no gig bag. The lack of a bag is no big deal to me; the last thing I need is another bag taking up space. But it is just the principle...it cost $750. I guess they had to cut costs somewhere. The fretwork is flawless...better than my Baja. I'm not a fan of Jim Adkins; I'd never even heard of him until I saw this guitar. I don't care about the signature on the headstock either way. He does have a good sense of style; I love the transparent red w/the rosewood fretboard.
