Just a really quick question, but what are the new Starcaster bodies made out of? Thanks for your help!

Dude just saying, you probably would have gotten an answer to this question if you didn't have that advertisement as your sig. A lot of people take that as spam. Its kind of frowned upon on the forum :( (look up Colon Advance Max for example and you'll see what I mean)

And to answer your question I'm thinking basswood. It has similiar properties of alder but is more common in Asian model instruments since its more available over there.

Ok, I'll probably change my signature here soon... Sorry for upsetting any of you all, I was just trying to promote the site and get referrals -- just thought some of you might be interested in getting free stuff. But I understand how it can look bad... Hey, I dislike spam and scams just as much the next guy.

Anyway, talking about the Starcaster body material, I found it out to be Agathis wood. I looked at my Starcaster's body and was able to tell from the grain and such that it is Agathis. Some people have even said that it was plywood, but it's definitely not!

Thanks for the replies!

You might want to change the sig NOW before you get tossed from the forum. You're not supposed to do commercial advertising here. :? There are many people here who are self employed who would love to have some free advertising.

If it is basswood, that's a good guitar wood.
