No, thanks. I'll just stay in AZ, where all we have are scorpions and rattlesnakes.

Hi Taurus: far as AZ goes, I once spent three months at the Grand Canyon. Man, they have some BIG spiders there! [Shudder...]

I'm moving to the South Pole where the scariest thing to be seen is a grumpy penguin or two. Look at Nikininja's posts to see how frightening that gets...

Cheers - C

We have those light cameras here too.
They are a pain in the @@@, but as a few have said could have been worse.
I have a Tomtom gps and if you are up to date with your downloads you can get it to point them out to you.

The simple fact is that education is the key to cutting down motoring offences, not persecution. The average motorist is taxed beyond belief anyway. The only thing imposing a fine does is cause resentment. Thereby increasing the danger for other motorists and pedestrians.
I'm a firm believer that every motorist should sit a course of refresher lessons every 5 or so years. Be made to take regular eye tests.
Attend a DD awareness course every few years which would also include case studies not only by victims of motoring violations, but the motorists themselves. A large number of motorists in RTA's suffer a lot at the hands of their own consciences.
Also every motorist should have to learn to ride a motorbike as part of their driving test. A hell of a lot of motorists are biker unaware.

The main problem with cars are that all their safety measures make us feel indestructable, when were anything but. Never mind the people outside of the car.

Around here they can put a speed camera within a 1/2 mile of a school which in some areas in cville is almost anywhere. I do like to get down the road at a clip though when I get out on the open road. I get to that 90mph to 100mph often with a occasional 100+ the worst ticket I got was many many years ago for 135mph got some trouble for that one.

See now theres something I am in two minds about. All kids are a bit mad when school kicks out. Would you want a driver constantly looking in their rear view mirror going past a school. You do have to monitor car speed in those areas though. Speed bumps should be mandatory in those area's along with a 20mph limit.
