Haha, don't expect the incognito famous people to reveal themselves!

Also, what if somebody on here was posing as a famous person, eh? 8)

True but we haven't had anyone say they are Dave Gilmour or anyone from any BIG bands.

Well, after many years on this planet, lots and lots of people know of, knew of, have known or know me. I'd even venture to say that many more still, shall come to know of or know me. Obviously, if I posted my real name, that alone will cause a lot more people to know or know of me and for those who fall into any of the 'known' categories, the 'known' would once again be in the 'know' category as surely some already did, do or will in all the aforementioned categories. Having said all this, it begs the question: Should I be categorized as famous or just wildly popular? YMMV.

I gave up after 'obviously'.

It's anything but.

Thats what I like about it, it leads you up the garden path. Like many suggestions on this thread.

No one is ever going to admit they are famous here. Why would they?

I did a similar thread a while back where a handful of people responded that they are "known by name and many people in the forum would have their CDs".

To me, it's not about being blown away by fame. It would just be interesting to know I was having a discussion with ... for example ... Robin Trower.

I remember a thread from before but the most people said is that they are known locally. I was one of them but that's not famous at all. Famous for me has to be known by 70-80% of the forum members on reading the name and is probably bloody loaded to boot.

I've done a search for your thread and can't find it. Who here 'has CD's most of us would own'? Intriguing.

known? just one of the many. legend? yes, prominently in my own mind, although, that may be a treatable psychological trait.

I'm a famous blues guitarist in a parallel dimension.

But here?

I'm some guy who plays guitar at home for his own enjoyment--and who loves every second of it.
