Hey Ya'll,
I got to thinking this afternoon (and we all know how dangerous that can be! LOL!) and I -know- this is a really rhetorical question but...are there any really famous folks wondering around these forums using an anonymous alias? Obviously I'm just some average "nobody"...a highly opinionated guy who just likes to shoot of his mouth on forums such as this from time to time and maybe in the course of things, help a few folks here and there. That said...obviously....I -love- guitars. I love playing them, I love looking at them, I dream about them at night, I certainly love buying them (or at least shopping for them) and clearly I love -talking- about them (in my case, especially Strats). In my case at least, I really couldn't ever see any of that ever changing even if I were to become famous. As such it seems to me that there would be others out there who were the same way...they certainly get their due appreciation when they're on stage and I'm sure they (their representatives) get hammered with tons of fan mail and such but perhaps sometimes they want to sit around on the computer and just talk about guitars like so many of us do. I honestly don't think that being famous would really change one's love of this instrument we call "the guitar".

Ok...ok...I don't really expect you to tell us who you are...I would certainly respect your privacy in that regard but it seems to me that maybe there's a few famous folks out there...maybe someone like Eric Clapton just as a single example who despite their fame (or maybe even because of it) simply love guitars....and in the case of these forums, Fender guitars, who just want to sit around and talk about them. Such a person may not really have the opportunity to really just talk about guitars with us "ordinary folk"...I'm sure that someone like Clapton or Gilmour or John Mayer or a great many others would probably get completely barraged with everything from utterly insignificant questions (Dude...what amp did you use on such and such tour? Which picks do you prefer? Who's your hair stylist??? LOL!) to little more than "You're God!"...and obviously that's what fan clubs are for. As such it would seem unlikely that a person such as Clapton or others would actually use their real name on a guitar forum...but that doesn't mean they may not be lurking around here under some assumed alias (Ceri, Ninja, Martian??? LOL!)!

So how's about it...any "kings" out there walking amongst us little people? I promise...I won't tell!

Peace,
Jim

(Hey...seemed like an interesting idea to explore! LOL!)

Good luck with that.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

What kind of Jedi mind trick are you trying to pull here?

What part of the definition of "incognito" do you not understand? To admit one was being incognito would defeat the purpose of being incognito...

You might as well ask if there's anyone in the Witness Protection Program on the forum? Or is there anyone who was featured on America's Most Wanted on the forum? We promise NOT to tell anyone what you say on a WORLDWIDE, PUBLICLY ACCESSIBLE forum...

I'm Fully Awesome.

Being a celebrity just means you have a cool job.

But being awesome is a task that requires effort beyond my job....

There may not be any posters but I'm sure there are a few lurkers. Not so much a 'great' and I'm not a fan but I remember talking to Doug Doppler over a pint about this place.

There's bound to be a hell of a lot who come on here. It is the FENDER.com forum after all.

The one and only.

.....Webster states that to lurk is to "lie hidden, as in ambush. To move secretly, furtively; slink".

I kind of like the idea of being a lurker! 8)
