Hey Ladies and Gentlemen,

My guitar partner Seany (binterz on the forum) recently got the Fender Amplitube software. I have to say I've been having a lot of fun with it.

When I demo for the other guys in the band mostly I cant mic up amps etc at home so I had been using Line 6 software or GuitarRig II and then recording with Cubase. I have to say the Fender Amplitube knocks them clean out the window.

I haven't had the chance to A/B it with the larger amps yet but I did A/B my Champ 600 with the emulator and it's pretty damn close.

At least when I'm throwing a disc of riff ideas to the other guys now it will sound a little less plastic.

Have any of you guys tried it out yet? Whats your opinions?

Sorry if this topic has been covered, I haven't posted much as of late but I would very much like a fresh take and perhaps some more of you guys have tried it since.

Thanks!

CC

The Fender Amplitube is much better than some of the other simulation software I have used. I use it for practicing when the family is sleeping. The Champ 600 simulation is pretty good. However, just like the modeling amps there is a long way to go to simulate a real tube amp. The simulated sag and touch sensitivity are just not there. This will probably start a war on this forum, but it is just my experience.

However, it is great for practicing without waking up everyone in the house. Also, if you are not sure what type of amp you may like, this gives a person a great opportunity to experience different types of Fender amps, and cabinets without a huge investment. As you said the sound is close, and it is a great piece of software at an affordable price. I am very happy with my Fender Amplitube software. Just wish they had a 57 Twin emulation in the software. Mixing the 59 Bassman head with different open back cabinets has come close on sound, but played nothing like the Tweed Twin.
