i like the game, its enjoyable... hopefully brings more people in to serious guitar playing, but its nice to play every once in a while... i agree with what someone said before, its like a football video game, it exposes people to it, but they may not want the real thing.... i meet some people who play this entirely too much in my opinion, but they can do whatever with themselves that they would like

SO does Rock Band have a career mode for Bassists, unlike that other game built for wanna be wankers? Any chance of a P bass controller?

Yup, there are career modes for all the instruments. As for a bass controller -- I heard a little rumor that there just might be one in the works. :-)

THAT right there, is why Fender rules! Thanks Brad, you just made my day. Nice to know someone cares. :D

Its annoying and ridiculous, but people didn't stop skateboarding when they first made the Tony Hawk games, and in fact more people probably started skating because of them. I think Guitar Hero is the same way. While you will now get some people who think they are rock stars just cause they kick butt on a videogame, some kids (or people) will be introduced to guitars and music, and that just means more people to play with in bands and jam sessions in the future.

Are they ever going to improve the godawful music in those things? Tho I guess mindless 80's white guy music does kind of serve the gaming aspects better than something deeper and more meaningful.

^ i guaruntee they make much more money off those songs though, since people know them and enjoy playing them.... i agree some of them are pretty poor, but it was most likely a business decision

You can buy more songs for the games online anyways, so I guess they make a bit of money on that too.

You'd need Bass Hero for that. Think about, Gibson...guitars for wankers equals music for wankers. Is it any suprise that the game is full of BS schlocky riff-rock?

My wife is a pianist and plays classical Chinese stringed instruments. She can't play her guitar well at all because she tries to play it like a Chinese lute, which don't work, which is funny, since she's so good at the tough instruments. Well, on Guitar Hero, she rocks. Something about the video game button she gets immediately. I pick up that fake little guitar and it freaks (that's okay right Brad) with me. I can't stand the litte fake guitar and the little switch. Hate it. Makes me want a real guitar to play. My three-year-old son likes it though. It's for kids.

Hopefully it exposes alot more people to guitar rock and with some of them it will stick and they will make the leap to actual guitar.

This weeks episode of South Park deals with the subject of Guitar Hero and the music business. You'll get a few good laughs out of it too...

I've found that SP's take on "Guitar Heroes" is a pretty accurate take on guitar heroes, aswell.
