I own a 1998 Guild X-170 and it is equivalent or better than any Gibson hollow body I have owned/played... Just $1000+ cheaper...

All I know is Fender is making Guild electric guitar owners happy in the sense that these guitars are slowly rising in value year by year because of the dis-continuation... They never should have messed with Guild... They should have kept the factory in Westerly and all staff/methods in place... But no.. They had to F*&^% with it... Ruined it ... I don't know if Guild can ever be brought back to life after that desctruction...


I sure hope they can revive the Guild electric market, Guilds (pre-Fender) are already my favorite acoustics but the Electrics I have played including the Dearmonds are all such high quality and like you said easily equal to a Gibson Hollowbody, in my opinion as well.
