I only have 3 guitars with maple boards and the rest are rosewood or ebony.I prefer the "grainyness" and texture of rosewood and even ebony especially for bending,it gives you better feel.Maple may be marginally better for bending but I like maple on some guitars for purely aesthetic reasons.People have long been under the impression that maple imparts a brighter tone to a guitar but there are other dynamics that could contribute to this perceived difference as I stated in another forum this week. The density of the body and neck wood, pup height and windings, slight differences in the electronics. This is just an urban legend created by tone snobs that can "tell" what type of battery is used in a stomp box or if a patch cord has a copper or gold core wire etc. and most people have taken this as gospel. There is no way possible to tell that the wood of the fretboard contributes to the overall tone.

A bit of both really, I have a couple of maple strats and the rest of my guits are rosewood.
I'm more inclined towards the rosewood these days but it wasn't always like that and my favours could turn back anytime.
Probably the next time I see Uli Roth and he pulls his maple strat out. 8)

Hi nikininja; I really like the Marshall MB series. It sounds great with my P Bass. The MB450H really sounds good with a half or full stack. 300 Watts with a half stack, 450 watts with a full stack. The MBC410 cab is solid, 600 Watts.

Sorry Riley, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that a rosewood board on your Strat in your sig pic and don't you own an SG?

I might be wrong but....

Right now I play on a rosewood but I do prefer maple on most Fenders.

I like'em both as long as they're on a strat.
