I was always fond of Moby Grape (another vintage 60s group were very talented but not well known today by many).

Although I wasn't a fan, I always though "Pansy Division" was an hilarious play on the phrase Panzer Division.

I love bands that are blank "and the" blanks. My favs are proably Huey Lewis and the News and George Thorogood and the Destroyers. A great 80's pop rock band and great blues rock band.

Also like Oasis, simple but good and The Rolling Stones, classic.

How about Cat Mother and the All Night Newsboys (popular in the late 60s and early 70s).
