People forget during those years there were so many better festivals, Atlanta Int. Pop Festival. Monterey Pop, Laurel Pop Festival.

I can remember going to the movie theater to see that when it first came out.

This is probably my favorite nostalgic film of all time.I've always wondered whaty it was like to live in the counter culture of the 60's,and this film captures the sights sounds and essence of that.It alwys takes you bak and makes you rtelive everything and the whole spirit of it all....I have this on dvd and always like to get trashed out of my mind while watching it.Makes a good companion...

I drove through Woodstock on my way home from Virginia just yesterday. It's about 2½ hours from here. Wish I had attended but I was too young for my parents to allow me to go at the time. I was only 15. :(

That was the Summer of 1969. I'm glad I was 17 at the time. Too bad we won't see anything like that again.

I sold Richie a music book once. He bought a collection of songs written by Rod Stewart.

To say that Richie Havens is a unique player doesn't come close to doing him justice. He is a true one of a kind. :)

I first saw Woodstock shortly after Jimi Hendrix died and when I saw him on the screen he looked so majestic-almost godlike,I'll never forget that image of him.It was also my introduction to Richie Havens,he certainly is one of a kind and has a huge soul.

Super cool story, I would love to have met the guy, an older friend of mine new him personally and spoke of him as a real humble and down to earth guy. He's one of my fav Guild players no doubt.

I saw him the year of the 1977 blackout in NYC. He was playing in Central Park and the last not of the last song, the lights went out! What an incredible talent he is.

I watched some of that. Good film, if a bit long.

I also saw some of "The Last Waltz" which I had never seen before. I was impressed by that even more.

Both are excellent timepieces, you get to see what these "classic" acts were like at that moment in time.

Festival Express isn't as good as either of these but it's pretty entertaining too, some of the same performers.
